The 2019 Dignity in Care Awards

4th December

The 2019 Dignity in Care awards were held on 14th May 2019 at the Oculus in Aylesbury. The awards celebrate outstanding examples of how carers demonstrate dignity and respect across Buckinghamshire, and we were elated to have been shortlisted in two categories and invited along to the award ceremony!

Awards were given for Collaboration, Learning, Community Engagement, Most Improved Service, Best Team, Innovation, Putting People First, Fulfilling Lives and also a Judges’ Special Award.

Well, we are proud to announce the Swarthmore team were highly commended in working together to ensure residents’ needs and wellbeing were paramount. Well done to our amazing staff!

But that’s not all…

We’re incredibly proud to have an award-winning member of staff in our midst, Kelly Richards - Kelly, our very own Senior Night Care Assistant, was declared as the overall winner at the Buckinghamshire Dignity in Care Awards 2019 from Buckinghamshire County Council!

Kelly is a credit to Swarthmore and to the care profession, as is evidenced in the countless staff and relative recommendations regarding the fantastic standard of end-of-life care she has delivered over the past 20 years.

It was great to see so many wonderful people and fantastic homes in the local area being recognised for the amazing care they provide - and we couldn’t be prouder for Kelly to have been given the very top award. Thank you to all our wonderful residents, their friends and family members who took the time to nominate and congratulations to all our fellow nominees and award winners. We really do have some amazing carers in Buckinghamshire! And Congratulations once again to our very own Kelly.
