Sports Day

20th August

Here at Swarthmore Residential Care Home our Activities Staff organised a Sports Day for the first time. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather in Gerrards Cross as the sun came out. This meant that the residents could come outside and enjoy the sunshine and join in the fun. Lots of games and races were arranged such as a wheelchair race, sack race, football, hula hoops and more …………….. The staff also held races of their own, such as a football exercise which was put together by our own football coach Mr Doherty. I think the sack race was the most entertaining; staff attempting to get to the finishing line! At the end of the games we held an award ceremony. Winners of races received a medal, everyone who attended the day received a rosette or badge, so celebrations were enjoyed by all. To finish off a fun afternoon, a local ice cream van arrived, and everyone enjoyed an ice cream or two to celebrate the day. Thanks again to Ann Marie and Torrie for organising a super day.
