Rotary donation of Crocus Corms

27th October

I was recently contacted by the local Rotary Club. They explained that one of their campaigns to eradicate polio, involves the purchase of hundreds of crocus corms. The Rotary thought it would be a good idea to offer some of the bulbs to local care homes.

For over 35 years, Rotary and its members have been committed to fighting to eradicate polio across the world. The Purple4Polio activities suggested by Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland are to raise funds and awareness for End Polio Now, Rotary’s global campaign to eradicate polio across the world.

Ann Marie our Activities Co-ordinator took the initiative to use the corms as an activity. Our residents took part in planting the crocus corms in decorative pots which are now standing on our patio wall. We are looking forward to the beginning of Spring when the beautiful purple flowers bloom. Thank you Rotary.
