Care Home Activities

At Swarthmore Residential Care Home, we take pride in helping to create a vibrant and engaging community for our residents. Our dedicated activities team works tirelessly to make you a diverse and enriching schedule that caters to the unique interests and preferences.

Consequently, we will take you through a collection of activities that contribute to the exceptional care and sense of community at Swarthmore Residential Care Home, which can consist of:

Poetry and Pet Therapy:

Imagine a day that begins with the soothing verses of poetry and the comforting presence of therapy animals. At Swarthmore, our residents have the opportunity to engage in sessions that stimulate the mind and touch the heart. Poetry sessions provide a creative outlet, while pet therapy offers the therapeutic benefits of companionship and unconditional love.

Zumba and Musical Performances:

For those who want to stay active and energised. Additionally, musical performances bring the joy of live music to our residents, fostering a sense of connection and cultural enrichment within the community.

Pantomimes and Art Classes:

Creativity knows no age, and at Swarthmore, we celebrate the artistic spirit. Pantomimes bring laughter and theatrical magic, while art classes offer residents a chance to express themselves through various mediums.

These activities not only entertain but also promote cognitive well-being and self-expression.

Visits from Farm Animals:

There’s something special about the presence of animals that brightens any day.

Regular visits from farm animals bring a touch of the countryside to our care home, providing residents with moments of joy, relaxation, and connection with nature.

Trips and Annual Events:

Life at Swarthmore extends beyond the care home walls. Regular trips, such as our annual Thames boat trip and visits to beautiful gardens.

These outings foster a sense of adventure, community, and connection to the broader environment.
