April Activities

An Active Month at Swarthmore

Who would have thought you could create such beautiful baskets of flowers using pipe cleaners? Our residents certainly did—and the results were simply lovely!

We’ve had a wonderful time celebrating Easter here at Swarthmore. The Easter Bunny paid us a visit, bringing smiles all around and adding a touch of magic to the day. Our Easter bonnet competition was a highlight, with some truly creative entries.

The fun didn’t stop there. Residents enjoyed a range of classic Easter games, including “Guess the Bunny’s Name” and “Pin the Carrot,” which brought plenty of laughter and friendly competition. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate with friends.

I think the highlight of the month was having the “Living Eggs” experience, both staff and residents and visitors had the joy of watching chicks hatch right before their eyes. It’s been a heartwarming and memorable experience for everyone involved

With the sunshine making a welcome appearance, residents have been making the most of our beautiful garden and a wander to The Ethorpe, enjoying fresh air and relaxing outdoor moments.

We also had a wonderful trip to Tulleys Farm, where the stunning tulip fields were in full bloom. The vibrant colours made for a truly breathtaking visit.

To round off the month, residents enjoyed baking and decorating cakes together. The occasion was especially meaningful as they created a cake to celebrate a staff member’s incredible 20 years of service. The concentration—and creativity—on display was impressive, and the afternoon proved to be a sociable and enjoyable activity for all.
