December Activities

Making Snowmen: A Sticky Situation

Building snowmen is always a winter classic—but this time, it was a little messier than expected! Gluey fingers turned into a bit of a messy ordeal especially when someone wasn’t thrilled about the state of her nails. Winter crafts may be messy, but they’re always worth it for the fun and laughter.

Movers & Shakers: Energy and Enthusiasm
Jim and Maureen led the exercises at the Movers & Shakers sessions held at the Methodist Church in Gerrards Cross. These weekly exercise sessions brought energy, smiles, and a renewed zest for life. It’s wonderful to see our community members feeling energised and ready to tackle the week ahead!

Music in Town: Dancing Feet and Warm Memories
This month, we were treated to performances by two extraordinary talents. Lj Piano Keys and 16-year-old Ricky amazed us with his skill. Both artists had our residents tapping their feet, swaying to the rhythm, and reminiscing with big smiles on their faces.

Windsor Illuminated: A Night to Remember
Bundled up in blankets, our adventurous group braved the cold and ventured out to Windsor for a truly magical evening. The town’s lights were breathtaking, and the atmosphere was filled with joy. Alongside meeting festive pups dressed as reindeer and children enjoying the pretend snow, we indulged in what must be the most delicious—and priciest—chips ever! Claire and Maureen kept the laughs coming, while Karen and Richard from Driving Miss Daisy Harefield ensured everyone got there and back safely. The evening was summed up in residents’ words: “Trip of a lifetime,” “Best one yet,” and “Absolutely magical.”

Teikyo School Visit
We extend heartfelt thanks to the International School of Creative Art for their warm welcome. This wonderful visit was filled with creativity, connection, and a festive spirit, leaving smiles all around.

Tea, Raffles, and Christmas Memories
We joined our friends from Windsor Lodge Care Home for a delightful afternoon of tea, a raffle, and a Christmas-themed quiz. It’s always a joy to share traditions and laughter with our extended care home family.

Little Visitors and Big Smiles
St. Mary’s School in Gerrards Cross paid us a festive visit, accompanied by Jane from the Amersham Museum. These young friends brought endless energy and cheer, making the day truly memorable for everyone.

Christmas Day Magic
Santa Claus himself made a special appearance on Christmas Day, reminding everyone that the magic of Christmas has no age limit. Our incredible staff went above and beyond to ensure everyone enjoyed the festivities.

Festive Cooking Adventures
December was full of festive baking! Mince pies and fruitcakes filled the air with the mouthwatering aromas of the season. Residents joined in on the mixing, and, of course, indulging in a taste test (the best part!).

This December was packed with joy, laughter, and meaningful moments, reminding us of the magic of Christmas. Here’s to many more heart- warming memories in the New Year!
