Springtime at Swarthmore Care Home – A Season of Fun and Relaxation
Spring is in full bloom at Swarthmore Care Home, with daffodils lighting up the garden, our magnolia tree bursting into flower, and vibrant pink rhododendrons adding a pop of colour. The garden is finally coming back to life, and it’s the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors!
March has been filled with exciting activities. Our relaxing Sunday morning hand massages have provided a soothing start to the week. Jeremy Harmsworth jazz band was a hit, getting everyone up and dancing and singing during the afternoon – the perfect way to embrace the spring energy!
Throughout the weeks, we’ve kept minds sharp with pottery painting and fun games, encouraging cognitive skills and creativity.
We also celebrated St. Patrick’s Day with a lively performance from Dance Irish, who wowed us with their impressive skills. It was a fantastic opportunity to try some new dance moves – because it’s never too late to learn something new! We finished the day with a festive Irish tipple to round off the celebrations.
Our weekly Get Set 4 Tennis sessions remain a favourite. We’ve been lucky to enjoy some lovely weather, allowing us to play outside and soak up the afternoon sunshine.
We also had regular visits from Monty and Thula, our beloved pet therapy dogs, who continue to bring comfort to everyone.
Gary Roman sang as Elvis and various artists which was a wonderful afternoon of dancing and reminiscing whilst singing to the music.
Stay tuned to see what else we’ve been up to at Swarthmore Care Home – there’s always something exciting around the corner!
