Spring Highlights at Swarthmore: Sunshine, Celebrations & Smiles

May has treated us to some truly glorious weather, with plenty of sunshine and just enough rain to keep our gardens happy and blooming. The residents, families, and friends at Swarthmore have been making the most of it – spending relaxing afternoons enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful surroundings.

Our Get Set 4 Tennis sessions brought plenty of energy and smiles, with residents and staff alike getting involved and having fun together.

We marked VE Day with a heartwarming celebration, hosting a traditional indoor street party. The home was decorated accordingly, and everyone tucked into classic favourites like salmon sandwiches and trifle -reminiscent of celebrations gone by.

Residents also enjoyed a scenic trip to Langley Park, where the rhododendrons were in full, vibrant bloom.

We were delighted to welcome the talented Denise Scott for an afternoon of film and show-themed entertainment, which had everyone singing along and reminiscing.

Creative spirits thrived during our arts and crafts afternoons, where residents painted, made jewellery, and much more….

And of course, no month would be complete without a visit from our beloved therapy animals, Monty and Thula. Their presence always brings joy, comfort, and plenty of cuddles.

It’s been a month full of laughter and memorable moments—and we’re looking forward to even more as summer approaches.
