May Activities

May has been a busy and uplifting month at the home, filled with creativity, friendship, and plenty of fun activities for our residents to enjoy.

We started the month with energetic seated hockey and football sessions, bringing lots of laughter and friendly competition. Residents also enjoyed adding artistic touches to our garden pots in preparation for planting season. Despite some unpredictable weather, our Wednesday Art Club continued the decorating indoors, ensuring every pot was ready for beautiful flowers and plants.

A highlight each week has been the much-loved pet therapy visits from Didi and Thula, who always bring smiles, cuddles, conversation from Didi and comfort to everyone they meet.

Residents also enjoyed an active afternoon with Get Set 4 Tennis and a lovely trip to the local garden centre, where they chose flowers for our newly decorated pots. The outing included lunch and sometime relaxing in the sunshine while testing out new garden seating.

Creativity continued during a special visit to the International School of Creative Arts, where residents spent time together with the students enjoying an art session and wonderful conversation.

As part of Dementia Awareness Week, residents planted Forget-Me-Not seeds — a symbol of remembrance, love, and support for those living with dementia and their families. We also hosted a delightful tea party filled with conversation, laughter, beautifully decorated cakes, and nostalgic vinyl music, creating meaningful moments and treasured memories.

Residents enjoyed a peaceful afternoon at Langley Park admiring the stunning rhododendrons.  As the warmer weather arrived everyone made the most of the sunshine in our wonderful garden with refreshing ice lollies while enjoying the beautiful views together.
