The Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards were originally created to celebrate the work of small, not-for-profit providers who didn’t necessarily have a PR team or lots of resource to dedicate to showcasing the positive influence they were having on people’s lives. Care Management Matters and the National Care Forum came together to work on the concept, giving national recognition to the care workforce in a different way. Established in 2014, the Awards have gone from strength to strength, we are delighted to have the sponsorship of Markel and others so we can continue to offer free ceremony tickets to finalists, as well as keeping the Awards free to enter.
The Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards focus on creative arts, community engagement, innovation, quality improvements, integration, technology and governance. These categories and the entry criteria have always been based on specific strategies – from Government and the sector – and have evolved over time to maintain relevance in an ever-changing landscape.
Markel UK will once again be the headline sponsor of the Markel 3rd Sector Care Awards, an incredible event that highlights hard work, dedication and commitment from individuals and organisations across the UK’s third sector. The awards shine the spotlight on so many worthy individuals and organisations that improve the lives of people with tremendous challenges up and down the country. The entries demonstrate the diversity and capability of organisations in the not-for-profit sector, all of which do so much good.
Our very own Ann Marie Coulter has been nominated as finalist for a Compassion Award. She provides endless activities within Swarthmore Residential Care home to all residents. Ann Marie goes above and beyond her role, she builds relationships and ensures their days are occupied with lots of interesting talks, crafts, outings and so on. She’s also there for residents on days when they are feeling down. She truly deserves to be recognised for all her efforts which come from the heart!
We wish her well and will let you know the results in March 2023.
